During the month of June, the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) reported 11,106 residential sales, up 28% compared to last June, but down slightly from the average number of sales reported over the past three months. While the sales volume during June was slightly lower, many Realtors feel that tighter supply of good properties may be hindering sales in some areas and price ranges. Demand for condominiums has increased significantly during the past three months.
The avenge sale price in the GTA dipped slightly to $1,089,536, but that value is up 17% compared to last June’s average.
Within Durham Region, TRREB reported 1,425 residential real estate transactions, which is down slightly from last month’s sales level. On a year-to-date basis, sales within Durham region are up 42% when compared to last year. The average sale price recorded in Durham during June was $917,267, which is a record high and 25% higher than the average sale price recorded last June. The average sales price in Whitby set a record level of $1,002,409 and Oshawa also hit a record with an average sale price of $796,883. Durham Region continues to attract buyers in all price segments and for all types of housing.
